Roll a D6 is a free dice tool for games, learning and everyday choices. This page explains what it is and is not designed to do.

Random results, not predictions
Every roll is random. Earlier results never change the chance of the next one, and nothing on the site can predict or influence a result. Probability figures such as the 3.5 average roll of a D6 describe long-run behavior over many rolls, not what will happen in a short session.
Not for gambling or high-stakes decisions
The roller uses your browser’s cryptographic random number generator with an unbiased sampling method, but it has not been independently audited or certified. Do not use it for gambling, betting, lotteries, raffles, prize draws or any decision involving money, legal outcomes, health or safety, or anywhere a certified random number generator is required.
Game rules are your call
The tools roll dice; they do not interpret rules. When the site mentions games such as Dungeons & Dragons or Magic: The Gathering, it does so only to describe where a six-sided die is commonly used. Always follow the official rules of your game, and the decisions of your group or game master.
No affiliation
Roll a D6 is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Google, any game publisher or any dice manufacturer. Dungeons & Dragons and Magic: The Gathering are trademarks of Wizards of the Coast LLC. All other trademarks belong to their respective owners.
Educational content
The explanations of averages, totals and probabilities are general educational information. They are checked carefully, but if you are using them for coursework or teaching, it is good practice to verify the working yourself. Each page shows the calculation so you can.
Errors and availability
Despite testing, a browser, device or connection problem could stop the roller from working correctly. If something looks wrong, refresh the page or contact us. Use of the site is also governed by the Terms and Conditions.
