What does roll a D6 mean?
A D6 is a six-sided die. Rolling a D6 means choosing one result from 1 to 6. For a fair die, each face has the same chance.
So when a game, a teacher or a friend says “roll me a D6,” this online dice roller does the same job as a physical die: press Roll D6 and it picks a whole number from 1 to 6, each with a 1 in 6 chance.
One roll or three in a row
Choose Single roll for one result. Choose Three rolls to generate three independent results in order. A repeated number is possible.
Each of the three dice gets its own random draw, so the tool never repeats or multiplies a single number. It shows the results in the order they were rolled and adds them up for you. To see what those totals tend toward over many throws, read about the average D6 roll.
A die for your next game
Use a D6 for board games, D&D or a game instruction that asks you to roll a six-sided die. For Magic: The Gathering, follow the card’s exact instructions; this tool does not interpret rules.
If a game asks for a bigger die as well, you can roll a D6 and a D12 together and read both results and their total.
